She also doesn’t believe she will ever find love because of her lack of trust stemming from the horror that was bestowed upon her four years prior. She is uninhibited and has a kinky side but has no outlet due to her fears of never finding love. If only there was a man who was worthy of that role. A man of undying patience, love and guidance.I think I loved her soft nature especially when she’s afraid. The mother in me makes me feel that way. I just wanted to shield her from danger. Recovery from her attack doesn’t come easy to her. It’s a painful, fearful journey towards her recovery. It punched me in my gut just how hard that deplorable event left her empty of what she most deserved, love. Meeting new people is difficult for her and understandably so.April’s best friends Chassity and Crystal persuade her to let loose and join them at a local club, Pure Sin. It is there that April is introduced to our Hero Javi.Our Hero. Swoonylicious Javier (Javi) Perez is a former DEA agent & former Navy Seal. Now he's a detective for the Santa Monica Police Department and is currently working undercover at a club called Pure Sin.In that one moment in time a connection was born and it was pure pleasure watching it happen to this couple. No couple deserved it more than April and Javi. He is absolutely pure sin in the most fantastic way. And the way he spoke Spanish to her, GAH!!! Very sexy. The undying affection he shows April is what heroes are made of. Sometimes, a hero like him is all you need to overcome the fear and madness. A man who never gives up and proves to her time and time again that they were meant to be together. Honestly, Javi gave me swoonylicious goose bumps.To quote April….“This man is an anomaly. He looks past my pain and sees the woman that I want to be.”I loved this couple with all my heart. I rooted for them time and time again. Will Javi break through April’s fears? Or will she be stuck in limbo. Never being able to have what she wants most? A good man is hard to find. Javi proves differently. Sometimes you have to open your eyes to see what’s right in front of you. Even if that is from across a crowded room.Danger lurks around every corner and thrusts the past back into April’s life. When that danger gets too close, will Javi be able to get to her in time? Or will other dangers get in the way? I’m not telling. But it’s exciting and suspenseful.Our Villain. Karl Woodrow is most definitely a wolf/maniac in sheep’s clothing. I’m not saying anything more about his character. You have to meet him for yourself. Believe me, you will pray that he will meet his maker! I loved hating him.MY FAVORITE LINE IN BOOK:“I say let him knock the cobwebs off it and rearrange your guts.”Sassy Chass.Crystal says "I agree with Chass, let him knock the bottom out of you.”The main characters have such a deep connection that can only come from the spot on character development by the author. I connected with them and was fully invested in the storyline. They were both believable and you wanted to know them. At least I did.I’m trying to think back to where I’ve read about a hero that is as swoony as Javi. He’s the entire package. He opens his heart right away because of an instant connection. Even if that connection was a room apart from each other. He’s exactly what April needs.Is it possible to rise from the ashes, even when you feel broken, burned and scarred beyond recognition of your former self? Anything is possible if you have a Javi in your life.Find out for yourself and be a part of the beautiful happily ever after..
