Pete had already decided he was going to have Charlotte as his next mark to con. He would get her to fall in love with him and then get her to marry him.
Then he would have her pay him off to get rid of him. He has been doing these scams for the last ten years. He never really loved the other women.
Charlotte needed a fake boyfriend and husband to get away from her parents picking her future husband. She was a Duchess and her family was trying to fix someone of the same status. She wanted to marry for love.
They set up a contract that way they both got what they wanted. He wanted $100,000. Half up front and the other half after they were married for at least a year and then got divorced.
Charlotte and Pete tried to get as much information on each other to make her family believe they were in love.
Both with the play acting they both started getting real feelings for each other.
Must be the Silverstone Ranch appeal. Seems no matter who comes there seems to attract opposites. First a movie star, rodeo star, investor and a prince.
But just when Pete was going to tell Charlotte, her Cousin a Prince Nicolai and there parents who he was and how much he loved Charlotte police came to arrest him. His past came back to bite him. He was set up as a thief by a former acquaintance who dropped a $500,000 necklace in his pocket.
He wanted to explain to Charlotte what happened but she had returned to her homeland with Nicolai and Aster.
He let time go by and Charlotte still loved him. He went to a masquerade party at the palace to ask her if she loved him?
She said yes, but her family was supposed to make an announcement about who they had chosen for her betrothed.
She didn't know that there was another secret she didn't know. But it was a great secret. Love wins out again. Must be something about that Silverstone Ranch. Great story by April Murdock
