About the Author

Guy Tal is a professional author and photographic artist living in Torrey, Utah. He is the author of several books, a regular contributor to several publications such as LensWork and On Landscape, a blogger, and an educator. Guy photographs primarily in the Colorado Plateau―a unique high desert region located in the American Southwest, where he lives with his wife, Sarah. In his photographs, Guy intends to express emotions and mood rather than to document or commemorate the appearances of places or events.

He help his readers contemplate the experience and existence of beauty. If you want to learn to relax and really enjoy photography, then read Gut Tal books and meditate on what photography does for your peace of mind and well being.

I love to read a few pages or one chapter at a time, then use my time to think about and reflect on the content. Photography is about so much more that the camera, and Guy Tal has a unique insight that some of us get a glimpse of but can’t put into words. Thought provoking!

    Guy Tal is a deep thinker and as a creative nature photographer and writer manages to articulate the creative process of making photographs, what makes a creative mind and the benefits of experiencing nature as well as anyone I know. The book is illustrated by many beautiful photographs. The only thing that lets the book down a bit is the production quality of the images. But that aside, I would still highly recommend this book to anyone who loves nature and is interested in the creative philosophy of photography and self discovery.
