With Lilith Vincent's Brutal Intentions I'm adding another new to me author on my list this year.
I didn't know what to expect and apart from the blurb I dove in blindly.

I was mildly surprised, after reading the TWs, that this book wasn't as dark as I expected it to be. But I get why the TWs might be necessary for some readers. So if you are sensitive to some topics, you might consider staying away from this book.

Other than that I really enjoyed reading Brutal Intentions. We have a young virgin heroine who learns to stand up for herself and discover her feisty side. This combined with a broody hero that turns into a possessive alphahole and teddy bear with the heroine at the same time.

I didn't round up my rating, because I have some questions that were left unanswered and some things that didn't add up to me. For example we never got to know what the Rosetti family does exactly and why Lazzaro's life could be in danger. Neither did we get to know what the Bianchi family does and why it was so important that these two family joined by the wedding.

I'm looking forward reading more from Lilith Vincent!

This is my first time reading a book by this author. Recommended via BookTok. Here are my thoughts:

Pros: Clever, shows depth in the characters. The transition from Mia and Laz going from platonic to lovers was well thought out and clearly written. The villains were clear and complex. The HEA was sweet and a good ending for the characters. Love everything taboo so this was right up my alley. Couldn’t put this down, read it in 2 days. Loved that Mia’s reactions were common sense and based on her environment.

Cons: This doesn’t have any mafia elements in it on Laz’s end. We don’t see what he does for the business. The story starts with him leaving it and trying to make a career for himself that isn’t illegal. It’s not a mafia romance by any means.

There were some misspelled words, but otherwise well written.

I do recommend this book.

I just love a man who would grovel so good. A real man despite how alpha falling to a woman’s foot and doing whatever she wants as an apology, ummm SWOON!

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Devoured it in a day and a half. My first book by Lilith and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait to continue reading this series.

DEFINITELY will not be my last! What a twist on a mafia read! I’ve never read a book that had such a PERFECT mix of spice & comedy! Who knew that was a thing in a non-ROMCOM?! This wasn’t even really a mafia read (which I’m glad I didn’t know going in else I would have missed out on this super steamy 💦🔥🌶🥵 naughty read!
I LOVED Laz! He cracked me up so much! His I don’t give an F attitude was unmatched! You literally never knew what was going to come out of his mouth! And that scene with the brothers from school?! I’ve never read one like it and full on laughed out loud when the 3rd person arrived. That was iconic! Still smiling about it now. He was a tortured soul whose family treated him like he was a baby and he wasn’t standing for it. No spoiler but the way he got around their rule? Classic!
Then there was Mia. I’ve been all in my feels lately so was not surprised when I got a little emotional at t in es with just how F’ed up Mia’s family was to get her entire life. Hot dang did they do her dirty…on a continual bases. My heart HURT for this girl and she STILL never let them steal her “shine” no matter what, she was determined to make her own way and to depend on NOBODY but herself. She was a fighter, from beginning to end.
Then there was Laz & Mia together. Holy freaking 🔥🔥🔥he was most definitely the naughty step daddy! Charging his way into her life, not giving an F that she didn’t want him there. Remember, this book is taboo and flirts with dub-con (No shame, I love non/dub con books!) but boy oh boy do these two spice it up. The naughtiness was some of the strongest I’ve seen/read and I like them 💦🥵. These 2 set the book on fire and never let up. I was so invested in their relationship and got so sucked in I felt like I was really right there with them! Those are staples of a great book in my opinion.

The only thing I didn’t like was no closure at the end for Mia with HER familial situation. I wanted to know how that ended up going with all the hurts and wrongs done to her and even them. You can actually see why some of these people have turned into nasty characters! How what happened in their pasts made them such crappy people in their present. I wanted Claire for Mia and maybe them too.

Over all I LOVED this book and got sucked in and finished in less than a day. I stared last night and finished this AM. Staying up way too late because I couldn’t put it down and waking up way too early to finish. This was an amazing read by a new to me author, Lilith Vincent. I am following her immediately and going to find whatever else I can that she’s written to inhale right away! Don’t let yourself miss out on a great read, go grab this book now!

Quickie Review: This was my first read by Lilith Vincent. I was in the mood for age gap and mafia romance and this was definitely an age gap but had more of a mafia’ish vibe than actual mafia. The heroine is 18 and finishing high school and I believe he was 29? I could be wrong. But dude is her step dad and the forbiddeness was strong and delicious. My only con is I am not much into the bully romance and Laz was a grade A bully at the start. Will still be checking out her other books. 4 Stars.

This book had me hooked and I loved every minute of it. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started this book but I sure am glad I found it while scrolling through books. The cover is what drew me in but the story is what kept me. This book has some serious kinks that not everyone is into so I’ll put a disclaimer in right now and it will have spoilers so if you don’t want to be told what happens then look away now. I mean it. Loook away!

I would happily read the second book in the brutal hearts book. The only thing that bothered me was that Mia the heroine fo the story never stood up for herself and never confronted her mom. I wish that was included in the story to have some type of closure. But other then that the story wrapped up nicely! I highly recommend for all my smut lovers
