During Daryl Banner's time in college, he wrote, composed, and produced a musical under Tony Award-winning musical and Theatre producer Stuart Ostrow, as well as two original plays produced under the mentorship of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson, who also mentored Daryl through the writing of his very first novel. In addition to new adult and M/M romance, Daryl also writes post-apocalyptic fantasy as well as dystopian.

Okay so this book was kinda unexpected. I wasn't sure how Daryl would portray Adrian, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. Nope I freaking love him to pieces. He was just a sweet and amazing as his twin. I enjoyed him a lot. Very funny beginning to emotional. Quintin just jumped off the page sweet and sarcastic and then her blossoms into as sweet and amazing as his love interest. Just loved him and even loved the camos of Vann and Toby.

I did enjoy the characters and their discovery of their feelings, desires and needs, along with the recognition that they aren’t simply the opinions of others. The only irritation is that annoying phrase about someone’s eyes snapping to someone else’s. That should never be used again. Ever. It’s a horrible simile and should be banned from human speech or writing.

I love the themes in this book that people are more complicated than what meets the eye and no one is the sum of other’s opinions. Sometimes it takes just one person seeing you differently to expose your true potential.

On the surface this book is about stereotypes but it’s much deeper. Adrian knows he has a reputation and he’s embraced it. But when his friend suggests that his looks make his life easier he’s resentful. He begins to wonder if people see him as a two dimensional person and his looks are the only thing people see (and care about).

Quin is a budding artist grappling with grief and the unfulfilled expectations of his brother’s life. He’s drowning in self doubt.

Adrian and Quin are strangers with zero preconceived notions about each other. It’s refreshing for both of them. They see each other not only as who they are now but the potential of who they can be. And isn’t that what we all want? Someone to see into the core of us, our soul and believe in our unrealized potential. That’s true love.

I so very much enjoyed reading this book! Adrian and Quintin are the perfect example of how opposites attract, and attract they did. Their first meeting was hilariously funny. I kept laughing out loud while reading it. Adrian's robe and him trying to jump in the bathroom ahead of Quintin developed into a scene that I just kept picturing it in my mind. There are times that I was laughing, and there were also times that I was swooning, but through it all, it was a story that I could not put down. When you have a sensitive artist that gets together with a playboy that is a "heart crusher", you are not sure what is going to happen, but Daryl Banner spins a story that you will want to read. With that, I highly recommend this book.
