He couldn't be more wrong.

In book 6 the Interceptor and Commander Grimm are babysitting an ambassador and his wife plus attendants. They're going to a distant planet that is halfway between two empires. So far, so good.

Things get interesting right from the start. The planet is having problems that soon will blow up in Commander Grimm's face. He and his marines will have some hard choices to face. If that's not enough some people are playing dirty just to throw a wrench in the plans. And an old nemesis is returning. The only question is when.

I really enjoyed book six. It's tight, and while it's not a massive space opera story like some of the earlier books have been, that's alright. I have a feeling this book will lead directly to what happens next with the Caliphate, the Guild, and more. Since most of the action is restricted to just a single planet it makes the characters pop and come alive, which I really enjoyed. We also get to see the commander's emotional side which was good.

The editing is solid and the plot flows. What more could you ask from a book like this? 5/5*

This author gives a great story & believable characters. The plots are always exciting as well as the battles, whether those are with ships in space or soldiers on the ground. Interceptor & it’s compliment of spacers and marines are caught off guard by treachery this time, losing much. The worst of it….? There’s not a lot Grimm can do about it. Or.. is there ?? Must he flee, leaving many of his people behind, flying for home to gather help, (which would take months) or stay to protect his people and go up against a ship that far exceeds his in tonnage as well as weapon technology?
Looking forward to June & book 7 release.

#6 in the Grimm's War series.

This book had a very slow start. I mean, oy vey it was boring! I believe it was around the 40-40% mark that interesting things finally started to happen. From that point until the end, it was an absorbing read.

Jacob and the Interceptor are assigned escort duty for an Alliance diplomat heading to the planet Cordoba. Unbeknownst to them, a violent coup is in the works. To make matters worse, the smarmy Guild is behind the whole mess. (They're the instigators of hate and discontent in this universe.)

There were some terrific fighting scenes. Planetside, Jennings, Bond and the Marines have their work cut out for them, let me tell you! Hoorahs all around :) In the Interceptor above, the friendlies all of a sudden weren't. There were some decent space engagements, especially with the Guild cruiser.

Good characterization, as usual. The destroyer's crew and the Marines all have distinct personalities. I love stories like this. The dialogue was very good, too. Really, the only problem was the pacing issue that I'd mentioned.

I preordered the next one in the series. I believe it comes out next month, if I'm not mistaken. I hope that it's not the end of this entertaining series!

Commander Grimm and the INTERCEPTOR. Find themselves assign to lead a five destroyer task force. Ordered to escort an Ambassador to an u aligned world, Cordoda, Grimm and his crew are.excited to see anew world. With a marine training crew they take on the duties.of training the Corrigan military and navy in modern tactics. But the Terra forming Guild knows a secret even the Corrigan donot. The planet has a rare.mineral that makes it worth overthrowing and occupying.

I love this series j really do. Which is why I'm glad the author did something different this book. Sending Grimm on another secret mission would have been to repetitive and very bad for this series. Jeffrey needs to show us more of this universe he's created more planet's, more cultures, governments, and how they live in this universe. But he's afraid to take risk to be more realistic too me. Their are certain situations where I believe his morals protect characters in this story, like when the Marines charged the guards and not one of them died. Or when Not one person was in range of a whole mountain when Grimm bomber their jamming station, if only to protect Grimms moral high ground circumstances like that and a few others take away a bit of the realism for me. Jeffrey wants the people in this universe to be better than ours I get that but even in an ideal world we have to deal with dirt, corruption, abuse of power, with some of that being in the name of a greater good. I still love this series and will pick up the next book right away I just hope Jeffery changes up his approach more.

Is there any chance that the MC will get a bigger ship like a battlecruiser or a HeavyCruiser but older than interceptor. Maybe a 60 year old warhorse and still angry and upgraded. Love the series. Keep up the great work! I can't wait for the next book!
