Galaxy's Most Wanted Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 233 ratings

"An interplanetary Ocean’s 11. Well worth the read."—Jeffery H. Haskell, Author of The Grimm's War series.

A smuggler in the wrong place. An ancient alien technology. Now, everyone is after him.

Kai Fletcher thought he could go straight, until he couldn’t. And when his last "last" job goes wrong, he finds himself stowed away in a starship belonging to an alien crime syndicate.

Forced into servitude to pay the debt for passage off world, Kai bargains with the syndicate. All he has to do is help them rob the Vakness Empire, the most powerful alien empire in known space, and he gets to go home.

Easy Peasy. Until it isn’t.

Planning the heist, Kai discovers that the Vakness Empire has stolen ancient alien technology that will allow them to achieve their dream of ruling over all other sentient species. He's never been a good guy, but even he has limits.

Hunted by both the Empire, and the syndicate, he manages to get on the wrong side of everyone in the galaxy who wants the discovery for themselves.

Kai just wanted to get back to Chicago, but instead, he’s become the Galaxy’s Most Wanted in this Sci-Fi thrill ride from Michael LaVoice!

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Michael LaVoice wanted to be a Marine but served in the US Army just in time for the first Gulf War. He was the fifth generator mechanic assigned to a Hawk Air Defense Artillery unit slated for three, and the other one was already the mail clerk. This means he spent more time playing soldier than wrenching on generators, which was probably best for the generators, and more fun for Michael.

He has been writing since he was in grade school, trying his hand at various genres and formats, but always returning to his first loves, crime fiction, military science fiction, and fantasy.

He is a fan of Techno-Industrial music, space navy battles, futuristic armored combat stories, and Space Opera in general.

He lives in west Tennessee with his wife, one out of seven kids, a mackerel tabby with delusions of grandeur, a Chocolate-Lab/Chow mix that got all the Lab friendly and all the Chow fluffy, and a German Shepherd puppy that keeps everyone on their toes.

He collects sharp and pointy things from Museum Replicas and probably too many starship models and action figures. As if there was such a thing as too many of those.

This was a blast. This was a refreshing tale about a guy who just wants to get home, bless his heart.
Some pretty awesome things happen along the way and I laughed almost the whole way.
I loved the idea of a “Redneck or Redcoat” option for human translation. Great humor and an even better plot make for a fantastic read.

I recommend this to anyone who loves a good story, well-told.
I’ll be following this series in print and audio. (The narrator was good too.)

I may have a new favorite genre to add to my reading list! I really enjoyed this visit into space with Kai! Well written and hard to put down! I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series, which I’ve already purchased.

This is a very well-written and well-paced sci-fi action/adventure story. I like that the main character is a normal guy - above average intellect with a specific skill set, but not James Bond or some Chosen One that is way too common of a trope in urban fantasy / sci-fi.

The protagonist’s motivations remain consistent; there is not some forced romantic love interest, which would not have worked with the pacing and circumstances, and the ending is a cliffhanger, but resolves the essential plot problem of the opening, while setting up a larger canvas for future narratives.

It is totally worth checking out and I look forward to future books.

I stumbled upon this series by accident. Haven't read a space adventure in years, but this one is great. Love the writing style. The plot is very fast paced, with plenty of humor and sarcasm. I really wish this author had more books! Waiting for the second and third books with great anticipation.

Michael LaVoice's book offers a thrilling sci-fi adventure reminiscent of Alan Dean Foster's work. Kai Fletcher's journey from a small-time smuggler to a reluctant hero is packed with action, complex characters, and moral dilemmas. The story explores themes of personal growth and the consequences of power in a gripping narrative. Ancient alien wars, lost fleets, AI's and more make it an interesting tale. Thank you.

And what a fun read!!! Filled with humor and not to much death and destruction. I'm waiting for my pre-order of book 2 to arrive. I hate it when I have to wait to continue the fun!!! :-)
