    I've been on the opposite side of the table from the author in that I've been implementing and supporting ERP systems and the additional software that interfaces with them for over 20 years. I've read most of this book up to the implementation chapter.

    Mr. Kutt nails the different approaches companies take to either succeed or fail when deciding on which ERP package to purchase. He's correct that typically you need to work with a controller at a company and not the CFO (who rarely logs in), you won't understand the licensing and everything exports to Excel! There is also some insight on cloud vs on prem which is also helpful. I've sat in the demos he references and in the end it didn't matter about what features one package had versus another...it came down to price.

    I think the individual who would benefit the most from reading this book would be a finance person who is faced with having to choose a new system either from growing too big for their current system or via a merger where you have pick which package to move forward with. There is no "How to Buy an ERP System" taught in college so I think it's a really good guide on what to do and not to do.
