I started this book and just couldn’t put it down. The characters and plot was very different than any earthquake book I have read before. I have only one question. What happened to the two idiots that would not open the door?

I have been a part of CERT for years, thought I'd pick up some more training. Got more than i expected! On practically every page there are descriptions of new technology being put to use for emergency planning. When the tsunami hits all that planning pays off for the characters in the story. But there's no happy ending to the Cascadia event. I came away determined to support smarter development - and ever more training!

Frighteningly gripping! Jan Glarum has captured a very real hazard and connected it with real people. His use of a Native Peoples story and a modern Emergency Management practitioner is compelling. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in what we must do to deal with this catastrophe in waiting!
